Products for palletizing canisters and hobbocks

Products for load securing are basically distinguished between means for load securing and auxiliaries for load securing.

The aim of palletizing is to build transport-safe transport units (or transport-safe load units). The load units have to be built in such a way that they cannot move or tilt during transport.

E.g. in the CTU packaging guidelines, you will find important instructions that should be considered when palletizing.

Products used for building transport-safe load units are called auxiliaries for load securing.

The essential differences between canisters and hobbocks are the shape and size. Shape, size and the number of canisters or hobbocks determine the load securing means to be applied.

Depending on the area of application, Grönheit & Weigel offers several products for the building of transport-safe load units. We recommend the following products for palletizing canisters and hobbocks:

Films

With the aid of stretch film, the bond between the stacked goods and the pallet is strengthened. The stability of the load unit is increased by the use of films.

Polyester strappings

Depending on the total weight of the load and the number of canisters or hobbocks, Grönheit & Weigel recommends different polyester strappings.

Grönheit & Weigel offers several strappings in different widths and strengths for manual processing:

  • GrizzlyStrap® PES Woven
  • GrizzlyStrap® KF Composite
  • Strap2000 HM Hot-Melt WG
  • PET
  • PP

Edge protectors

Cardboard edge protectors ensure an even distribution of the strapping bands pressure on the goods.

Vertical edge protectors are used for the stabilization of the single layers and are fixed through belly-strapping.

Cardboard edge protectors vertically fixed to the pallet edges additionally increase the stability of a transport-safe load unit.
