Secure goods on Flatracks

Load securing by IMO

A flatrack is a CTU (Cargo Transport Unit). It is the transport of goods by a carrier (truck, ship, railway) while the goods to be secured on it comply with the provisions of the IMO (International Maritime Organization) concerning load securing.

Load securing for goods up to 50 tons

Generally flatracks are used for loadings that do not allow usage of a standard container due to weight and size. Modern flatracks are able to carry weight up to 50 tons.

In this context lashing straps, anti-slip mats and edge protectors are used for load securing.
